Mike:
One of the nice things about DeskNC (for DOS) is that it offers a graphic
display of the toolpath.
However, IMHO that's it's only advantage over TurboCNC. Specifically, DeskNC
supports very few G-Codes and appears to be a "legacy" program in favor to
their newer Windows programs. Now, if you're referring to their windows
based software, I'm not qualified to comment.
|Has anyone had experiance with these software choices? For all
|intents and purposes would TurboCNC run just fine using DeskCam for
|the DXF to G converting.
|To setup the DeskNC to run the Geckos thru the Printer port, how do I
|set up the wiring from the db25 board to the Geckos for step/dir?
I believe that each of these programs offers programmable I/O points, so you
should be able to configure TurboCNC and DeskNC to use the same cables.
You might want to look at DeskNCRT, from the same company, which appears to
implement a larger set of G-Codes that DeskNC.
