Good evening! A few weeks ago I got the badtrans-whatever. I went to
the Norton site and followed their manual removal insrtuctions
carefully. The instructions were good and I was able to remove it
completely.

I do not use an anti virus program of any kind. They slow the machine
and cause other problems I don't wish to deal with. Rather I watch
what I download and what I open (attachments). I backup a lot as a
matter of habit to a second hard drive; applications on C: data on D:.

I feel it is theraputic to reload the OS on a freshly formatted drive
every 6 months or so. It clears the deadwood that accumulates and it
keeps you on your toes in general.
