Hi John
The Reishauer process is a grinding process used to finish gears to very
close tolerances.
I think it uses a gear generating protocol rather than a form dressing
protocol but I'm not positive on that.
Anyway, it is capable of creating extremely accurate hardened gears but is
expensive.
Super accurate gears transmit motion more smoothly, and high end machinery
requires this precision for good finishes and reduced tool wear.
