Z-Star EX

Folks:

Thanks to comments on this list and the CNCPro list, I've finally been able
to make my Zenith Z-Star EX notebook computer work with TurboCNC.

If you'll remember, my problem was that the pulse train sent from the
printer port to the motor controllers was not a smooth train, but often
delayed the next pulse several milliseconds from the current pulse. Turns
out that the problem was traced to the EMM386.EXE driver. Apparently,
there's something in that driver that hogs the processor when it gains
control. I was able to verify that the EMM386 driver was the cause because I
could either cause or remove the problem by loading or not loading the
driver.

This was with Novell DOS-7 and the Novell DOS-7 EMM386.EXE driver.

Out of curiosity - does MS-DOS 6.22 and the Microsoft EMM386.EXE driver act
in the same manner?
