Some Slo-Syn 110V motors that are labled as "Syncronous
Stepper Motors" can be rewired to run on 30 volts . The motors that can
be used have a backplate that removes to reveal the internal coil
wiring. Open the backplate and separate the two windings as they are
grounded together.
After the two windings are separated, wire the series coil connections
in parrallel. This can sometimes be done on the pc-board at the rear of
the motor.
This drops the voltage and also reduces the inductance which helps
increase the possible speeds.
It takes a little work but allows the use of surplus bargains.
