This problem has been pointed out - It is the X-server crashing on shutdown
and it affects some hardware combinations but not others.
This has no impact on running EMC as far as I can tell, so if you can live
with it, my advice would be to ignore the warnings.
I'm working on an update to fix it, but I suspect that I'll be dropping back
to XFree86-3.3.5 for the next BDI disk.
There is an option to include XFree86-4.10 but this is another can of worms
regarding compatable hardware. Many of the older graphics cards are not
supported, and certain XF86-4.x options initiate a system crash. It seems to
be the power management control is the main culprit.
