Looks Like tonight is the night for questions

Need some help from all the people smarter than me on this group (Please)

I just had delivered one of the internet specials from
http://WWW.DEALERSELECTRIC.COM/
The 2HP unit with the inverter rated motor. I have read the manuel with the
VFD and the limited information that came with the motor (which told me
more about the grease to use than anything else), but NOTHING about maximum
and minimum speeds that it is SAFE and PRUDENT to run the motor! I
contacted a friend in a maintenance department at a local plant and his
recommendation (before he told me that he didn't deal with VFDs etc) was to
run the motor at no more than 1400 rpm! (Now that don't make good sense to
this ole country boy when its rated to run at 1720 at full load normally).
I also know that I will not try to run the inverter at the 400HZ that it
will do (11,000+ rpm)

So my question(s) are what does the group think the maximum and minimum
speeds are reasonable and prudent to use??
Your collective intelligence please.
