THE BEAST

Hi,

First a comment on what Jon Elson said about disassemble Eprom stuff:

Well, - it is very difficult, - at least the way you explained it. (
Have done something similar once )

What I had in mind, was just to replace it with a monitor type of code,
get stuff from the serial port, and
output it to the io. Skip all code parsing, math, etc. Just make a
sort of "in circuit debugger" monitor.

I don't know anything about the "Beast" - other than what I have seen
on some of the drawings. I don't know
what encoders you have, servo amps, motors, - all the thing you would
hook up too.

I guess it is best that I quit this subject now, I am just going to
propose something:

Forget lollipops, and see if you have some of the "green stuff". Talk
to Jon, and see if he would be willing to make you a
drawing of the project. Send him what you have about encoders and
servos. He could probably supply you with a full, ready to hook up, -
package.

Okay, it will cost a bit, - but there would be several benefits. You
would have someone that knew your system, that could duplicate most
problem events, and sort it out. Upgrades of EMC and other stuff, would
be easy - because you would stay in sync and be compatible to other
platforms. I know that someone would object to advertising like this.
But on the other hand, it would be very nice if people stayed together
on some common platform.

( Jon will either hate me, or send me a lollipop :)
