Gecko 340 reset manager (for Marris)

I read this on a previous post

Good morning! All you need with the G320/340s shipping now
(as of
Dec. 1)is to simply hook all the ERR/RES lines together. If any
one
drive faults then it will pull the others down as well (up to a total
of 4 drives). No external circuitry is required anymore.

I purchased my 340 controllers in late sept 2001. Would this
work on these controls. They have the black connectors not the
gray.
