I have used both but in old versions. Still use DesignCad 3d for DOS
and like it. Their first windows version(s) were buggy. Don't know
about the "3dmax" version out now, but would like to?

Turbocad3d I used was their first version, and back then even they
said it was junk. Newer turbocad 3d's ahd some probl;ems running
vector plotters well, but it was the use of the windows plotter
driver that was the problem.

P.S. Too bad about the PDE crashing. I was just about to fire it up.
are you sure it was the program, and not your system? Do other have
comments about this "free" download?
