Don't know what the max is, but I am running Gecko step/direction
servo drives with 4000 steps / inch and I can get 400 ipm easy, so
that works out to 4000 X 400 / 60 = 26,666 steps / second. (I think)
It will do faster speed but I don't need to go that fast as my travel is
only 18". That is with an AMD 450MHZ, running steppermod. I think
the pulse may be somewhat ragged at that speed and some drives
may choke on it, but the gecko servo drives don't care about ragged
pulses. Your mileage may vary.
