But if you will be using a "chopper drive" such as the Gecko G210, the
transformer you use will not have to have NEAR the current-rating as the
"max. winding current" your motor(s) will draw, as they apply "bursts" of
MUCH higher voltage to the windings in short "chopped" square-waves, so the
CURRENT need be only a small % of the "max". The "wattage" needs to be the
same, figuring continuous running, as the Gecko drives DROP the current to
the windings to about 1/3 after ONE second of no pulses received. WUNNERful
devices ol' Mariss has produced!

Example: I am cobbling a machine with two "one amp" motors, and BOTH motors
running cause a current-draw (on the lab-bench) of only about 500 mA, or 25%
of the "average" current actually going through the windings at THEIR (low)
voltage. The power-supply is putting out 25 VDC. Of course if you RAISE
this unreg. DC, the current average from the supply will be even LESS! Do
some EE work!
