Is anyone familiar with the ExtraTech Company ?
I have used this control as OEM on a MultiCam Router. It seemed to have
a very good Contouring technique. Sorry, No really good adjustments
though. (had some via connected PC thru port but nothing to brag
about)Problem was they would not sell it to the individual. They offer
controls for OEM applications only. They basically have a motion board
in a box that you dump your files to thru a Serial Port. The machine
control has a simple touchpanel with LCD display to allow for setup of
speeds and such. You can call up a job file that is saved in a
particular directory on the connected PC if you'd like but you may
toggle thru a gazillion files to get the one you want.
I noticed that the Bob Cambpell CNC router has a lot of MultiCam
familiarities. I wonder if he uses, or offers the Extratech controls ?
After having a fullsize PC monitor right at the machine, and, A motion
Controller in IT to boot, I do not know if I like the minimalistic LCD
approach anymore !
Now, this black box theory ? Is *some* of the Black Box thread thinking
of this type of control ? It doesn't always sound to me like they mean
the DeskWinNC or FlashCut method. Like with Fred's concept.... That
sounds way different !
