Hey list,
A couple of weeks ago I posted asking for help with info on my
compumoter cx indexer microstepping drives. What I have found out is
that these drives are "intelligent". they have programmable eeprom
memory. They are really sweet drives. Problem is, They are to smart
to run my plasma table. Go figure. I was contacted off list by a
fellow who wanted them to step a spindle for hobbing (ok, thats over
my head). We were going to swap these 2 "smart" Drives for 3 "dumb"
g201 geckos. After a couple of enthusiastic e-mail exchanges, he
seems to have fallen off the planet. If anyone else is interested in
these for a similar deal please contact me off list. These were
purchased as part of a package from e-bay. The entire package was in
nice shape, looked more like new than surplus. The seller, Daves
Surplus had great feedback and he stated that these were removed from
working equip. There is a hefty pdf file on these at compumoters
sight if you need more info. They have sweet heat exchangers tha I've
been tempted to pirate for the gecko's, but I suspect that would be
sacreligios on such a sweet setup.
Let me know
Thanks
Dale
P.S. If only I were as smart as that guy who designed those "dumb"
geckos. Hmmm, is that an oxymoron?
