If you want to try controlling your VFD from a spare serial port - B&B
Electronics www.bb-elec.com have a product No. 232SPDA for $89 which may
be helpful. I've not used this product, but have used many other
products of theirs and they work well and are easy to get going etc.,
plus they provide good tech support if you get stuck.
They are generous with sending free catalogues if you make a request.
