Hi All:
I remarked a while back that I quite like the DX32 control on my
Defiance mill, and got back some comments that it isn't a very desirable
control.
Seems though, that it would be a super starting place for a PC based system.
Does everything that's required, is PC based (runs in DOS) and has a
sequential set of screens that are brought up with the number keys on a
regular keyboard.
Also has a manual pulse generator, a pneumatic collet closer, door
interlock, E stop: all the goodies.
The control can do more than my Haas can, and runs just ducky on an old
Pentium with Win3.1.
I don't know how legal it is to "reverse engineer" from the hardware and
software on the existing machine, but it has been a versatile, reliable, and
simple package for me.
So should we start tearing into its guts and find out how it works???
(So long as it is NON destructive investigation!!!)
Cheers

Marcus
