Good link. The text part way down the page illustrates the problem with
using a stepper, its no good at low speeds, like one click at a time. That
circuit won't work for one click at a time as youu need a 'deadband' around
the zero speed point to stop random signals which, in our case, would cause
the machine table to jitter about the whole time.
