I don't want to invite the wrath of the list moderator, but as this could
affect the availability of spare parts, it is significant. As many users
here have or are contemplating retrofit of old Bridgeport machines
(CNC or not, to begin with) the presumed availability of spare parts
was a plus for those machines over the imported mill-drills, where
spares may or may not be available when you need them.

Certainly, much discussion of this is not warranted, but the initial
report of the event seems relevant to me, at least.
