Doug and all,
Just a couple quick links to rotating nut and rack drive manufacturers.
Of interest is Thomsons new RN series of rotating nut
ballscrew drives. The hollow ball-bearing nut housing is
integral in the unit. The lube starvation (due to grease
slinging) issue is dealt with by recommending a pressure
oil lube. I would have no problem specifying a fully tested
system like this... but I'll bet the price is out of this world!
