Has anybody used igus linear bearings on their machines?
www.igus.com
Those are polymer bushings intended to replace linear ball bearings in all
kinds of applications with round shafting. They even have models to be used
on rectangular rails like the THK bearing blocks.
They claim quite impressive wear figures on steel or anodised shafting, like
practically zero wear ! And the lowest friction coefficient, with no
stick-slip.
They also have a wide range of bushings for rotating shafts.
What I am drooling over is their extruded/anodised aluminum shafting with
INTEGRATED mounting base. Check it out.
Any comments appreciated,
Thanks,
Guy
