Big Transformers

Hi,

Carlos' recent post about the toroidal transformer has got me
wondering if this type of transformer could be used for an EDM
system? I realize that toroidals are usually used for audio
applications, but is there any pitfalls with using them for CNC or EDM
applications?

Seems like it's easier to find large VA toroidals than standard
transformers.
