Tom,
I would suggest that you look at Rhino 3D. www.rhino3d.com . If you are a
student, I think you can get a copy for $195. Rhino is the 3D package to use
as far as cost goes.

Compare with others?
Hi
I'm still in the very early stages of learning how to draw in 3d on
computer, bbut I have downloaded a version of SoftCad.3d to try.
It has a big tutorial, and I am plugging away through it. So far, it
seems pretty interesting, but my goal is to be able to draw an object
in 3d, accurately, convert it to G code, then let Art Fenerty's
Master5 take over from there, and cut the part, either metal or wood.
So here's my question. If I'm cheap enough to NOT want to buy 3d cad
software, and since this package was free, how is it compared to
other 3d software? Anyone tried it? Is it easy to learn compared to
other hobbiest standard 3d cad packages, or should I try something
else?
I would buy software if I had to, but I figured I'd take advantage of
shareware or freeware if it works just as well. Thanks for all
replies.
Tom Kay.
