With EMC you don't set it in steps per second, but in units per second.
If you are using inches than it is inches per minute. The parameter is
in the individual axis and is called MAX_VELOCITY. For inches .1 would
give you 6 ipm. 1 would give you 60 ipm. There is also a MAX_VELOCITY
setting under the TRAJ section. I was told that controls the maximum
speed the tool can reach and should be set about 1.5 time higher than
the fastest axis. To understand just think that your X and Y move at 60
ipm. IF you make a 45 deg move with both axes at full tilt the tool will
be moving faster due to the combined vector.
