The ER-16 (probably developed by ERickson Tool Company) has a 16 degree
(included angle) taper over the work-holding surface. It's a "releasing"
type, intended for use in a collet-holder that can apply enough pressure on
the front, tapered (NOT 16 degrees) face to collapse the collet onto the
shank of the tool being held. Does Dyna Myte have any info on them? More
info probably could be had by doing a search on AltaVista. I think, only
collets are utilized in this fashion. Do you plan on making your own tool
holders that fit the ER-16 tapered collet? As for the collets, they can be
had from MSC, or Wholesale Tools, or just about any supply company for
about $30.00/ea. Maybe, get for one to use as a pattern??
