Does CNCPro NOT Have a separate "Machine 0,0" and "Part 0,0" ????
In regards the use of limit/home switches, I even prefer a mill table to have inserts or dowel pin locations in the table so you can "drop" in place an X direction "fence". The Y axis fence is just
a Pull out Dowel pin set into an insert. You can leave the X fence on most all of the time and pull out the Y pin when long stock is machined.
I also use this method on my CNC Router. Quick jobs can be clamped up tight to the X axis fence, pushed up to the dowel pin. On my Router, I also use a raised "Engraving Table" located by dowel
pins. When in use, This table uses two fences in the 0,0 corner that can be "flushed" to the same thickness of a thin part. I never have to check where the part 0,0 is, just send the machine to the
limits at bootup for "machine 0" location, then my Cam program already knows the offset location of "part 0". I'd go nuts locating edges everytime I put a part on the machine(s).
