BDI install report.

This post is for the EMC curious.

I drove down and did an install for RayHex, my nearest EMC and
CAD_CAM...neighbor. His abode is about 130 miles south and a bit west of
me.

He was thinking 486 when I got there. Linux is okay with it but BDI
isn't. Next choice was a used Tiger 233 with completely unknown
internals. Turns out the bios was password protected by the previous
owner. Got around it with a floppy 'cause floppy was in the boot chain.
It had a four meg drive with MS-98 and the lowest res screen I've seen in
a while.

BDI 2.12 recognized that there was another OS there and wanted me to
manually partition the drive. Other than that the install was over in
less time than it took to tour Ray's shops. BDI recognized all the
essentials and set up a 1040 screen. I added the tkemcex stuff and he
could have been running steppers that night.

Nice set of metalworking machines, RayHex. Good luck with the retrofits.
Hope the icy roads are dry now.
