BDI and new install

EMC'ers

I just completed testing two linux distros with a FIC FR33 motherboard
and 800 Mhz Cyrix chip that tigerdirect.com listed for $99. Not a bad
combination with on board audio and video. I put it into an old atx box
that was dead. I recommend 128 meg of133 ram because the video driver
uses some of it.

Mandrake 8.1 installed like a dream and started first time. I think this
means that it would work well with BDI TNG. We can try this at NAMES.
BDI-2.12 had a little difficulty with the onboard trident blade video. I
had to run Xconfigurator in a terminal a few times and play with the
settings to get it right. I can give you details off list if you decide
to try this.

The EMC seems to run well with this combo and there is one ISA and 2 pci
slots. Linux can easily find a NIC on pci and that leaves the ISA for
that servo card or the auxio for that awesome interface panel.
