Evaluating CAM software

Well, the ups man just drove up with a box containing
a $5000+ copy of Mastercam Router for evaluation!

Let's see... I am now already trying eval copies of

Vector
Rhino
STLWorks
Vcarvz
Deskproto
DXF to rs274

My budget is more low end... but if Mastercam is THAT good
I might consider it.

I have looked at some archives but would greatly appreciate
comments about the systems.

If this is off topic (I don't know) It can be done elsewhere. It's
just that this group has a large amount of collective experience
with these programs.

I have written rs274 manually and even done some parametric
c programs that write rs274 for special purposes.

But it is really time for me to get a good general purpose tool
path generator.
