Hi Keith,
You have 2 options when using Unipolar motors on Bipolar drives, Full
and Half Coil. Unipolar motors are wired with 2 coils in series with
a wire comming from the junction (tap) of the 2 coils (windings). If
you connect a Bipolar drive to the outside wires and use both coils
its called Full coil, if you use the center tap and one outside wire
(only one coil) its called Half coil. Half coil is preferred because
the inductance of the windings is 1/4th of what it is using Full
coil. Less inductance means higher top speed.
