Removing any safety feature that prevents damage during a bind-up
sounds like some kind of technical violation to me.

But, will re-enabling the overcurrent trip, and setting it to a high
trip threshold, so it ONLY trips on a bind up force you to limit the
performance? I suspect you won't know unless you try it.
