Dave, thanks for the info... you mentioned a stepper/gearhead with a 2 to 1
ratio stepper, well I think that is what you were saying, at any rate, I
believe that would work great for my "Z" axis, the ball screw is a 3mm pitch
so, gearing it down would help keep the stepper from creeping at small
movements, and add power ....do you think of that logic? Also my Yamaha
linear z axis is so efficient, that the resistance of the gearhead would
keep it from moving, when power is off the stepper......But do gearheads
have backlash? If anyone out have any stepper/gearhead with the above
specs, and would like to share more info, please let me know.....
