The MSC catalog has a device called a 3 phase Rotation Tester. on page 3721
of the 98-99 catalog. I didn't check on-line, but it can probably be found
there with the correct description

$59.00 item number 06472211 This one appears to be all electronic. When my
brother the electrician hooked up my Fanuc 5T a few years back, he had one
that was actually a 3 phase motor with a little indicator for rotation.
Most industrial electricians carry one in their back pocket, otherwise the
money is well spent, compared to blowing out silicon, or even fuses. (My
Fanuc fuses are over $20.00 each for a some of them)
