Light Machine TMC 1000 controller?

Our school has a Light Machine model TMC 1000 with no controller,
power supply, or software. It has superior electric steppers: type
MO63-CS06 - 150 oz. - 3.36 volts - 2.9 amps - with 200 steps per
revolution. Will most controllers work with this system? Which
controller and power supply is the best for the money? Should the
steppers be replaced with larger motors (they seem small for this size
of machine)?

Light Machine no longer supports this unit...their solution is to
invest in their new controller system for $4500 to $5000.

As a side note - sorry if this message gets sent several times to the
group...the school e-mail and server system is junk and sometimes
sends multiple copies.
