Hello taildragger,
what is your name? On thursday last week I had a Smithy combination
machine in my hand.(lathe with a drill head)
Is yours like this?
The maintainence guy in that factory wasn't happy with it at all. But I
am shure he doesn't know how to set it up right!
In your case I am shure I will be good to change the lead screws against
ball screws.
Fine tune the slides to optimum performance at assembly.
For a hobby shop this machine in combination with some beefy steppers or
small servos will be a nice peace of metal.
