and I'll bet your steps are sub- 1/1000" !

which means maybe you could meet that spec with software compensation
on all the leadscrews. Note this means 3D compensation, which is
a bit more involved (but not much) than just independent compensation
of each leadscrew individually (ie the axes might not be orthogonal,
so the 3D compensation would compensate for that).
