Arc fitting algorithm

I have been testing some algorithms for arc fitting on poly lines.
Does anyone have or know of a routine available in source that will
take a series of connected coplanar lines and evaluate it for arc
fitting along the curves?

I have seen one that does stepwise 3 point evaluations, but it didn't
do quite the process I was looking for.
