Greetings,

If you set your machine to 1972, it probably will only stay that way until you reboot.

Most of the non Y2K compliant bios revert to 01/01/1980 when you reboot. They seem to accept these dates and you can even roll
the machine over to 2000 and it appears to work.

Now, I am not certain, but I believe Linux loads time and date from the bios, just like DOS and the other M$ systems, on
boot-up.
