Leadscrew formulas and general stuff

I am triing to post again(Yahoo Gremlins), I posted this yesterday
and it never made it.

Is there a consensus on the formulas for converting force in oz-in to
force in pounds for a leadscrew?

I will make a post in the files section with a general tutorial on
designing with a leadscrew (similar to the Gecko whitepapers) if I
get an email with the relevant details.

I am designing a machine and would like to know the formulas for force
(lbs) to get acceleration and general info about stepper motors(open
another can of worms) for use with leadscrews. I do know them but my
physics courses were years ago and in metric(Canadian)
