While starting up EMC I encountered the following problem. All the
modules started except the last one which hung up my PC. The hard
drive started making a noise, ka-tink, ka-tink about ten time so I
turned the computer off. I tried to reboot and got the following messaage
on the screen "L L 04 04 40 40 80 80 AA AA AA AA AA .....". The computer
just kept printing out A's. After two minutes I shut off the maching.
While rebooting the hard drive at first seemed happy but then ka-tinked a couple of more times and then was quite.
Any idea what is wrong and what the fix is? Is my hard drive dead? It work
fine for about two weeks as configured.
