Vacuum Desoldering

A while ago there was a discussion about vacuum desoldering stations. In the
latest Nuts and Volts Magazine Alltronics ( www.alltronics.com) 408-943-9773
lists a 24 volt diaphragm air pump. This appears to be the same Bosch pump
that I used to make my desoldering stations. They have them listed for
$19.95 and rate the vacuum side for 28 Hg and the max pressure at 11 lbs.

I have also used 2 pumps in series with one another for vacuum applications
and they would pump down faster.

Might also be useful for vacuum bagging applications as well!
