Hi,

If you are using a servomotor with an encoder that has an "INDEX"
output, you can get a very accurate "home" with any kind of home
switch.

The "INDEX" output is the accurate position; the home switch only
enables the index output and needs to accurate to only +/- 1/2 of a
motor revolution.

You can get the same effect by making your own single line "INDEX"
encoder and putting it on the leadscrew. This could be as simple as a
disc with a single small hole in it. A photo-interrutor will see it
and stop the motor accurately.
