Barry: I agree, you should swap out the lead-screws with preloaded
ball-screws. There are "kits" available for Bridgport mills, but I have NO
clue if same applies for these little drill-mill things.
Servos are nice, but very complex and expensive, particularly for unwealthy
newbies. Properly installed stepper-motors with Gecko G210 drives would do
nicely. I can NOT advise WHICH steppers to use, but it wouldn't surprise me
if you would do very well with the Superior Electric KML-092-xxxx bipolar
("4-wire") motors.
