If that's a BTC-1, it's a Boss 7 or 8 control with servos and ballscrews
and a VFD on the spindle along with a mechanically operated backgear.

Does it have the toolchanger?

I head rumours that there have been conversions, but haven't talked
to anybody directly.

I have one that I bought with the intention of doing an EMC conversion,
but I'm going to keep it intact as long as it works. I'd rather be
making parts than building a machine (and I'm not even doing that since
I have it in storage right now).

If you do decide to scrap the control, drop me a line.
