My current Y-axis screw has "angular contact" end bearings.
I've never really known the advantages one type bearing has over the
other in this type application, as long as they have some sort of
thrust characteristics.
This is "Angular Contact", you mention "Roller thrust" and "Ball
thrust", and someone just a few posts ago was talking of a "Deep
Groove" (I believe).
I suppose if the bearing meets size, load, and precision
requirements, that the type of bearing is secondary.
The Load specification alludes me, I would probably just pick the
largest that fits.
