Wire size for NEMA 42's

I came across some 18gauge stranded 6 twisted pair instrument
cable. No shield though. Would this suffice to drive the NEMA 42's
on my Bridgeport? I've been monitoring the list. Hadn't had time to
do the conversion BUT my patience has been paying off as I've
been collecting the needed parts for little to nothing in cost.
I'll be driving them with the G201's I got from Mariss and 3, 70V 8A
power supplies.
