Hi Steve,
I looked into a plasma cutter a few months ago.
really simple for the table. check around at what others did.
seems inverted angle iron with rack and pinion the rack on the
outside so the dust falls out is preferred.
evacuation of the gasses is simple. a vaccumme shroud around the
cutter will let you control top side, and a exhausted lower will,
with just large pieces of cardboard over the open sections will let
you control the lower gasses.
Search this list throughly for plasma and you will find discussion of
how to control the tip height as well as lots of neat suggestions on
the table itself.
