You should be thinking around $10 or less for the 5 volt supply, not $100.
Take a look at the surplus houses rather than the industrial supply places.
"All Electroncs" catalog #302 shows part #PS-235 for $7.00. This supply puts
out 5 volts @4 Amps and 12 volts @3 amps. You'd simply not use the 12 volt
terminals.
