Lee: PVC is generally kinda translucent, if not pigmented. If the
individual wires feel "slick as wet soap" when you pull a clinched pair of
fingers down 'em, it is PTFE (Teflon). If "nothing strange" like that, it is
probably PVC, aka "vinyl".
