I've used these SBCs in industry for several years now, and in my experience
they're comparable to any desktop of equivalent CPU. I've had only a scarce
number of failures (2 to be exact) among something on the order of 120 or so
installations over the course of my 6 years of experience with them (several
manufacturers). I use a couple P75 boards for low-profile development of
embedded web server type applications, and currently am running EMC BDI 2.10
on a P233 equivalent with steppermod.o (though there's no driver support for
the touch LCD). The older ones I have all plug into passive ISA backplanes
for expansion if required, while the newer ones rely on PC-104 and PC-104+
busses for expansion. I think these packages are great, and as long as you
don't want to play video games, or serve large databases with them, you can
pick them up for a reasonable price (read minute fraction of MSR) used.

Has anyone messed with these single board computers that you can find
on e-bay?They seem to be a nice little package.
