Jared: In MY opinion, GWBASIC running in DOS is just fine! (I write my own
"CNC code" in BASIC!)

I understand some kind of special "patch" is necessary to enable Windows to
OUT to the LPT-1. Don't know. Never even tried.

A stepper motor won't START without "ramping" faster than about 400
steps/second. Even a SLOW one- or two-megahz. clock-rate would enable this
rate, even in a FOR-NEXT loop in BASIC!
